Super Slacker

Introducing the new super hero, Super Slacker!

So today is the 1st of August. I haven't posted here since March. Just had the thought that perhaps I should take up the new name Super Slacker. However, perhaps I could look at this as testament to the job I'm doing in real life/preparing for the baby?

Ok, so the full run down on life updates (well what I can be bothered writing down for now). We're around 8 weeks out from baby coming out. I don't think I mentioned it but we went for our anatomy scan around 12 weeks and baby chow chow didn't open legs to show sex. We decided it was fine and didn't push to go for another scan. We figured it would result in family and friends being extra thoughtful in buying gifts and we would avoid being showered in blue or pink. Other than a handful of people, most predicted a girl. Two weeks ago we got too curious and we decided to have another scan. We saw a big healthy baby boy with lots hair already!

I have been to a few more job interviews in the last couple weeks. Still waiting to land something. Navan set me straight on this. It's not a matter of if I'll get a job, it's a matter of when. It's pretty much stuck at my mantra and approach for the job interviews so far. It is always good to catch up with Navan. However, just starting to freak out now since Kyla's almost on maternity leave. But there's really no point in stressing since I have done as much as I can (other than continuing to apply to jobs) and the rest is beyond my direct control.

Uni is uni. I've taken a break from the serious pursuit of it all. Just filling up time with some social policy papers. Think I will have to sell my soul hah.

I have been lifting lots lately and I am a lot stronger than I was at the start of the year. Probably should start working towards fitness soon. I have been really good with nutrition in the last 12 weeks, so pretty happy with that.

Although NSW lost again this year, my other team is doing well in the NRL.

Chiefs are in the finals this weekend.

Fishing has been great this year.

Guess this year has been going well. Still can't wait to get out of this house. I really want to go back to Albany since they're building a whole lot of shops/restaurants that I like. Although I would love to have my own backyard again, I am missing the simplicity of apartment life. But to own our own space would be amazing. We will get there soon I suppose.

Recently a guy I knew from when I worked at ABC Glenfield passed away tragically. He was a good father. It was one of those moments life railway crossings of your life priorities and current concerns are put into perspective. William Halaifonua is survived by his two children and partner.

Although the saying below has been attributed to a whole lot of people, it doesn't matter. It has stuck to me for the past 4 months.

So exited for baby chow chow!
